* This can be discouraging, “I don’t have an undivided heart”
* This is something we ask God for
Our hearts are very tender
* We need to watch what we let in our hearts
Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it. | Proverbs 4.23
Careful what we allow to cause deep emotion
* You can fall in love with the wrong person
* Can allow a gel capsule to develop and not know it!
* Doesn’t mean you will never be hurt or disappointed
* But you will not be put down
* Difference between a tranquilizer and a bullet
* One can put you down, but you will get back up
How do I get an undivided heart?
2 things, first…
* 1 – Ask God to give you an undivided heart
* Give God something to work with
* Allow the Spirit to expose your heart and not FB!
It’s about a man named – Naaman
* Commander of the army of Aaram – Had leprosy
* Someone told him of a prophet of Israel Elisha could heal him
* Went with many horses/chariots to the door of Elisha house
* Elisha sent a messenger out to him – “God dip in the Jordon 7X”
* ► This is how Naaman reacted…
But Naaman got angry and left, saying, “I was telling myself: He will surely come out, stand and call on the name of Yahweh his God, and will wave his hand over the spot and cure the skin disease…So he turned and left in a rage. | 2 Kings 5.11 HCSB
* “I was telling myself”
* I was expecting / had my hope/
* This is what was in his heart
* Jesus said…
…out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks. | Luke 6.45
* Guard your heart – because that produces words
* Words are seeds that when planted they grow – produce fruit
How do I get an undivided heart?
* 1 – Ask God to give you an undivided heart
* 2 – Change what you say to yourself
* Past week, telling myself this is too hard, God can’t do it
* When I am weak then I am made strong!
* What Naaman was saying to himself almost cost him his life!
* But his friends convinced him to change his mind
That’s why all of our hope and expectations must be in God
Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.”
* Not overcome with sadness and despair
* That is for someone else, nope it says…
This includes everyone…God is the same Lord of all and richly blesses all who call to him. Rom 10.11-13 GNB
* Expect good things from God
* Know He loves you
How is your heart?
* What is being exposed in these days?
Acid test – in a 1K years from now – will God say “Well done”
