Don’t be afraid of the enemy! Remember the Lord, who is great and glorious, and fight for…your sons and your daughters… | Nehemiah 4.14 NLT
Four Questions I want to ask parents this morning…
- Do you believe that Biblical principles are THE Truth?
- What is your vision for your kids?
- What are you willing to invest to see the vision for your kids succeed?
- Are you willing to fight for your kids future?
1- Do you believe that Biblical principles are THE Truth?
The greatest challenge for parents today is to believe in Biblical Principles
- Principles not in Biblical debates (Dinosaur – history)
- I’m assuming most of you believe the Bible to be the Truth
Psalm 18.30 KJV
As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried:
The Word of God is tried and true; it’s been proven over thousands of years!
Battle-hardened
- Like throwing an apple in the air, to see if it ever stays up in the air – Gravity
Your convictions may have changed
- You aren’t more enlightened; you’re more deceived
2 Corinthians 11.14 CEV
Satan tries to make himself look like an angel of light.
You don’t determine the truth; you are a student of the Truth
2- What is your vision for your kids?
Not necessarily what their grades will be, their vocation, or who they will marry
Everything is created twice
Have a vision for a new home; the architect draws the plans, and the contractor builds it
God is the architect; it’s the builder’s responsibility to follow the plan
- Having that vision for your kids is so vital …
Proverbs 29.18 NKJV
Without a vision, the people (your kids) will cast off restraint…
Hebrew- To let loose, to be empty, unoccupied
Parents, you can’t send your kids off empty!
- Like glass in a pool, emerges filled with water, or air
Someone is going to fill your kids – Who is that?
- Kids are like wet cement
Morals Matter
3- What are you willing to invest to see the vision for your kids succeed?
Invest – To sacrifice what is valuable to achieve the desired outcome
- Someone says, Gotta an incredible business opportunity for you; you in invest 1 $
Like in business the more you invest the more influence you have in decisions
The greater the investment, the greater the influence
4- Are you willing to fight for your kid’s future?
Nehemiah 4.14 NLT
Don’t be afraid of the enemy! Remember the Lord, who is great and glorious, and fight for…your sons and your daughters… |
- Stay informed
- Get involved
- Seek out other like-minded parents
- You no longer have a village to support you
The vast majority of those who have an influence on your kids is not supporting your vision
- We sacrifice our kid’s future on the altar of convenience
I asked you 4 questions – Now ask yourself…
- Do I believe that Biblical principles are THE Truth?
- Do I have a vision for my kids?
- Am I willing to invest to see the vision for my kids succeed?
- Am I willing to fight for my kid’s future?
